Project Support Technician

Responsibilities to include ...
- Assembly of development prototype motors along with associated products such as gearboxes, sensors and feedback devices, cable looms and power and control electronics
- Performance testing of drive solutions utilising in-house, computerised dynamometer and associated data capturing equipment. Understanding issues uncovered during testing and proposing solutions. Preparing test reports to fully document tests undertaken and results achieved
- Fault-finding mechanical/electrical issues and proactively contributing to provide a solid resolution
- Providing feedback to design team to support enhancement of design from prototypes to limited pre-production samples through to full series production
- Support Design Team with proactively sourcing components, materials and services to support both prototype and production projects
- Supporting off-site product testing at third-party test-houses undertaking environmental testing such as temperature, humidity, shock and vibration etc.
- Design of suitable test rigs to ensure developed products meet/exceed design specification
Key Skills to include ...
- Multi-disciplined engineering capabilities include both mechanical and electrical assembly, inspection and testing
- Competent with both manual and automated inspection equipment
- Experience with computer-based test equipment
- Confident with generating software test scripts and programming devices
- Good working knowledge of MS Office suite including Word, Excel etc.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A positive "can-do" attitude with an ability to operate independently as well as part of the wider team
- Capable and confident to travel to external sites (customers/suppliers/test establishments) to represent the Company
